Ingredients

Cake Base

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water

Gelatin

  • 1 package flavored gelatin (Jello)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Topping & Garnish

  • 1 container whipped topping
  • to taste sliced fruits for decoration Optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, 3 large eggs, and 1 cup water. Beat until well blended. Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool about 10 minutes, then poke holes in the top using a fork so the gelatin can soak in.

Gelatin Mixture

  • In a separate bowl, dissolve the flavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, then stir in 1 cup cold water.
  • Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.

Chilling & Serving

  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours until set.
  • Spread whipped topping over the chilled cake before serving and optionally decorate with sliced fruits.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Use a fork or wooden spoon handle to make evenly spaced holes for best gelatin absorption. Don't overbake the cake; a slightly underbaked center will soak up more gelatin and stay moist. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
