Equipment

  • crockpot

Ingredients

  • 4 cups canned chicken, drained (about two large cans)
  • 16 ounces cream cheese (two packages)
  • 1 cup buffalo hot sauce
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Cut the cream cheese into small pieces for easier melting. Combine the chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and cheddar cheese in a crockpot.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1-2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until the mixture is well blended.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding salsa for extra texture and taste. Toppings such as diced onions, fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, or chopped chives can be added for variety. Different cheese types like Colby jack or pepper jack can be used to alter the flavor. Freshly cooked chicken can be used, but ensure it is cooked to the proper temperature before shredding and adding to the dip. Serve with tortilla chips, carrot sticks, celery sticks, pretzels, baguettes, or crackers. The dip can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or frozen for 1-3 months; thaw in the fridge overnight.
