Ingredients

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

Spices & Sweetener

  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Binder & Finish

  • 1 unit egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • 1 spray oil spray (for air fryer)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into strips about 1 inch wide.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar over each pastry strip, then twist each strip gently to form a twist.
  • Place twists in the air fryer basket without touching, brush with beaten egg, and lightly spray with oil.

Cooking

  • Air fry for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy, checking at the 8-minute mark.
  • Let cool slightly before serving so the centers set.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold until ready to roll to maintain flaky layers. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer; leave space for hot air to circulate. Brush with egg wash for a glossy, golden finish. Check at the low end of the cooking time to prevent over-browning. Store leftovers in an airtight container and re-crisp in the air fryer for a minute or two.
