  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet dry ranch seasoning mix (1 ounce)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 ounces)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for searing)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Optional: Sear the chicken breasts in olive oil for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • In a slow cooker, mix the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Add the chicken breasts to the sauce, ensuring they are well coated, then cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken in the slow cooker using two forks.
  • Stir in the sour cream until the sauce is creamy and well combined.
  • Serve hot over rice, potatoes, or noodles, garnished with cheddar cheese and parsley if desired.

Notes

This chicken can be served over rice, mashed potatoes, or in sandwiches and wraps. Frozen chicken breasts can be used without thawing; increase cooking time by about an hour. For a richer sauce, substitute sour cream with softened cream cheese or add heavy cream. Vegetables like peas, carrots, or spinach can be added during cooking for a complete meal. The recipe can be doubled for larger servings without changing the cooking time.
