Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or whisk
  • Piping bag (optional)
  • Wire rack

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, plus more for dusting
  • 8 teaspoons strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon white cocoa syrup (optional)
  • melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes (hearts or rectangles). Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush tops with egg wash.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crisp. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in white cocoa syrup if using.
  • Slice each puff pastry in half. Spoon a teaspoon of strawberry jam on the bottom half. Pipe or spoon whipped cream, then layer fresh strawberries.
  • Top with the remaining pastry half, dust with powdered sugar, and drizzle melted chocolate before serving.

Notes

Best served the same day they’re made. For extra shine, brush the pastry tops with egg wash before baking. You can add a drizzle of melted chocolate for a decadent touch.
