Nutella Puff Pastry Star Wreath

Equipment

  • baking sheet Line with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Rolling Pin To shape the puff pastry evenly.
  • Cookie cutter or cup For shaping and marking the center.
  • Pastry brush Used to apply egg wash for that golden shine.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed (about 500g total)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon icing sugar, for dusting
  • optional chopped hazelnuts, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out both puff pastry sheets into equal circles (about 10–12 inches). Place one on the baking sheet.
  • Spread Nutella evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edge.
  • Place the second sheet on top and press gently to seal.
  • Place a small cup in the center and cut the pastry into 16 even strips outward from the cup.
  • Twist each strip 2–3 times, remove the cup, and brush the wreath with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  • Cool slightly, then dust with icing sugar and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts if desired.

Notes

You can use Biscoff spread or chocolate spread for a nut-free version. Brush with milk instead of egg for an egg-free option. Best served warm, right out of the oven, with a cup of cocoa or coffee.
