Ingredients
  

Cake base

  • 1 box Cake mix (any flavor)
  • as called for Eggs, oil, and water Follow the instructions on the box.

Frosting & tools

  • 1 batch Buttercream frosting (homemade or store-bought)
  • as needed Piping bags and tips For decorating the cake.

Color & decoration

  • various Food coloring (gel recommended)
  • as desired Edible flowers or candy flowers For decoration.
  • as desired Green sprinkles or edible green grass Optional for a garden look.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven and prepare the cake mix according to package instructions; pour batter into a pan and bake as directed, then cool completely.
  • While cake cools, make buttercream frosting and divide it into bowls for coloring.
  • Tint each bowl of frosting with food coloring to make different flower shades.

Decoration

  • Spread a base layer of buttercream over the cooled cake to create a smooth surface.
  • Fill piping bags and pipe flower shapes across the top, using different colors and tips for variety.
  • Add edible flowers or candy flowers as centers and accents, then sprinkle green sprinkles or edible grass around them.
  • Chill briefly to set the frosting if needed, then serve and enjoy with family.

Notes

For serving, serve slices with lightly whipped cream and fresh berries. Garnish each plate with a small mint sprig for color. For variety, offer an easy blueberry cake alongside.
