Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ¾ cup water
  • Hard taco shells or soft if preferred
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • Black olives for monster eyes
  • Green onions for monster teeth
  • Sour cream or guacamole optional but fun
  • Toothpicks or small skewers to hold toppings

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Warm taco shells according to package instructions.
  • Spoon a generous amount of beef into each taco shell.
  • Top with lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
  • Decorate as monsters: use black olives on toothpicks for eyes, green onion strips for jagged teeth, and add sour cream or guac for a slimy look.
  • Let kids get creative make one-eyed monsters, wild green tongues, or spicy vampire tacos with jalapeño fangs.

Notes

Toast taco shells for extra crunch, chill toppings for color contrast, and use toothpicks to keep monster features in place. Double the beef for party batches!
