Ingredients

Base

  • 1 tube Pillsbury sugar cookie crust Prepare as directed on package

Creamy spread

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Glaze

  • 1-2 tbsp lime juice Adjust to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp powdered sugar For a thinner drizzle, mix with water or more lime

Fruit toppings

  • Strawberries (sliced)
  • Blueberries
  • Bananas (sliced) or other seasonal fruit

Optional

  • Fresh mint for garnish
  • Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven and prepare the sugar cookie crust according to package instructions, pressing evenly into a pizza pan or baking sheet.
  • Bake the cookie crust as directed until golden brown, then cool completely on a wire rack to firm up.

Assembly

  • In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth, then spread evenly over the cooled crust.
  • In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar and lime juice until smooth to make a glaze, then drizzle lightly over the cream cheese layer.
  • Arrange fresh fruit on top in a patriotic pattern - use blueberries for stars and alternating rows of strawberries and bananas for stripes.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing to set the glaze and chill the filling.

Notes

Cool the cookie crust completely to avoid melty cream cheese. Use very fresh, dry fruit to prevent sogginess. Slice fruit uniformly for a neat, photo-ready look. Chill before serving so slices hold shape. Store leftovers covered in the fridge up to 2 days for best texture.
