Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter room temperature
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 10-12 oz. chocolate chopped, semi-sweet and milk chocolate recommended or good quality candy coating

Instructions
 

  • Line an 8 x 8 inch dish with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Mix peanut butter, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar.
  • Press the mixture into the dish to form a ½ inch thick layer and freeze until firm.
  • Cut out hearts using a cookie cutter and return to the freezer until firm.
  • Melt the chocolate and dip each heart, tapping off excess, then place on a lined tray.
  • Refrigerate until the chocolate sets and store in the fridge or freeze for longer preservation.

Notes

The number of hearts produced will vary based on the size of the cookie cutter used. A 1 ½ inch cutter yields approximately 30 hearts.
