Ingredients
  

Bread & Cheese

  • 2 slices slices of bread (your choice)
  • 2 slices slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or mix)

Fat

  • 1-2 tbsp butter, softened, or cooking spray Use room-temperature butter for even spreading and browning.

Optional Add-ins & Toppings

  • Sliced tomato, ham, or a pinch of garlic powder For extra flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread or spray with cooking spray.

Assembly

  • Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the air fryer basket.
  • Add the two slices of cheese on top of the bread, then place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.

Cooking

  • Air fry for 5 minutes, then open the basket and carefully flip the sandwich.
  • Air fry for another 3-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Remove from the air fryer, let cool for 1 minute, slice, and serve.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the basket—cook one sandwich at a time for best results. If cheese oozes, place a small piece of parchment under the sandwich to catch drips. Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to refresh the crisp.
