Ingredients

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Coating

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Sauce & Cheese

  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil and place the chicken in a single layer.

Cooking

  • Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Top each piece with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the air fryer and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

Pound thicker breasts to an even thickness for uniform cooking. Don’t overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if needed for the crispiest coating. Use olive oil spray to promote browning without excess oil. Check internal temperature — chicken should reach 165°F. For extra flavor, try a garlic-Parmesan twist.
