Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional for searing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional for garnish
  • fresh parsley, chopped optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Optionally sear the chicken breasts in olive oil for a few minutes, then place them in the slow cooker.
  • Mix the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a bowl, then pour over the chicken.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Searing the chicken before slow cooking can improve the dish's flavor and texture. Adjust the cooking time based on the size and thickness of the chicken breasts. You can add diced vegetables like onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms for extra nutrition and flavor. For a stronger ranch flavor, consider increasing the ranch seasoning by one or two tablespoons.
