Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar, packed Use light or dark brown sugar based on preference.
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is recommended.
  • 2 large Eggs At room temperature.
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Sifted before measuring.
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with dark chocolate chips.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness. For variety, you can add nuts or dried fruits.
