Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 1 ounce chocolate chips optional
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Optional: extra caramel drizzle cinnamon sprinkle

Instructions
 

  • 1. Pour apple cider into a small saucepan and toss in the cinnamon stick, nutmeg, and cloves
  • 2. Warm it over medium heat until it’s just about to bubble
  • 3. Stir in the caramel sauce and chocolate chips (if using) and whisk until smooth
  • 4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and maple syrup until soft peaks form
  • 5. Remove cider from heat and discard cinnamon stick
  • 6. Pour into mugs and top with maple whipped cream
  • 7. Drizzle with extra caramel and serve warm

Notes

Skip the chocolate for a lighter version
Add a splash of bourbon for a grown-up twist
Dairy-free? Use vegan caramel and oat milk whipped topping
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated gently
