Ingredients
  

Cheese

  • 8 sticks mozzarella sticks Use string or block mozzarella cut into sticks.

Breading

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes For extra crunch.

Egg wash

  • 2 large eggs Whisked together until smooth.

Seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Add the flour to a shallow bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs together until smooth.
  • In a third bowl, mix together the salt, Italian seasoning, and crushed cornflakes.
  • Dip each mozzarella stick into the flour, shaking off excess.
  • Next, dip the floured stick into the egg, coating it completely.
  • Finally, press the egg-coated stick into the crushed cornflakes until well covered.
  • Once all the sticks have been breaded, place them on a pan and freeze for at least 1 hour so they firm up.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375℉.
  • Spray the mozzarella sticks lightly with cooking spray and arrange them in the basket so none are touching.
  • Air fry for 4 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Serving

  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Freeze the breaded sticks solid before air frying to prevent cheese from leaking. Don’t overcrowd the basket; air needs to circulate for even browning. Use crushed cornflakes for extra crunch, and press firmly so crumbs stick. If reheating, air fry frozen sticks for 3–4 minutes at 375℉ to crisp up.
