Ingredients

For the fritters:

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter unsalted
  • 2 medium apples peeled and diced (about 2¾ cups)

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice.
  • Pour wet into dry, add melted butter, and stir until no dry streaks remain. Gently fold in apple pieces.
  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Line basket with parchment and spray lightly.
  • Scoop ¼ cup batter mounds into the basket, leaving space between each. Air fry for 8 minutes, flip, then cook 3 more minutes until golden brown.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and butter until smooth. Dip warm fritters in glaze and let excess drip off on a rack.
  • Enjoy immediately while warm, gooey, and irresistible.

Notes

The batter should be thick like muffin batter. If it feels too runny, add a spoonful of flour. Don't overcrowd the air fryer so the fritters crisp up properly. Dry the apples with a paper towel before mixing in. Spray your basket between batches for the best golden crunch!
